What Is This Word?
This sermon explores the authority of Jesus Christ over the spiritual realm and physical sickness as depicted in Luke 4, emphasizing that God's Word possesses limitless power to rebuke evil and heal the afflicted. The message reassures believers that while they may encounter demonic oppression or disease, they need not fear because God remains sovereign over all circumstances, using even suffering to conform believers to the image of Christ. By citing Romans 8, the text argues that all things work together for good to refine God's people, pointing ultimately to the future resurrection where sickness and evil are vanquished. The sermon concludes with a call to actively expand the kingdom of God through the proclamation of the gospel, asserting that the Word of God is the primary weapon against darkness and the source of true comfort for the church.

What is Your Opinion Based On?
Have you ever met someone who had a strong opinion about a controversial topic? For instance, someone might believe in reincarnation, a woman's right to abortion for any reason, the need for reparations for descendants of American slaves, freedom of speech, the legitimacy of socialism/communism, the need for unity among Christian denominations, illegal immigration, the right to free healthcare, medical benefits, and food assistance, perverse views about human sexuality, that evolution is the best explanation for how we got here, the right to defend your family with a deadly weapon, how to raise a family, or who is the best college football team. All of these ideas have been expressed by different people at different times, but are they right?
