Jesus, the King, speaks with authority that belongs uniquely to him. In Mark 1:21-28, Jesus teaches in Capernaum, confronts an unclean spirit, and shows that the powers of darkness must obey his command. This message calls us to see that recognizing Jesus is not the same as trusting and following him. His authority demands more than astonishment; it calls for repentance, faith, and obedience.

The King’s Holiness | Mark 1:12–13; Matthew 4:1–11
In Mark 1:12-13, Jesus is driven by the Spirit into the wilderness, where he is tempted by Satan. This sermon follows Mark's account with Matthew 4:1-11 to show how Satan tempts us to satisfy legitimate desires outside God's will, use God for our purposes, and take shortcuts around God's plan. Jesus stands where we fall. He is the faithful Son, obedient King, and spotless Savior whose perfect obedience leads to the cross for the salvation of sinners.

The Beloved King | Mark 1:2-11
In this sermon from Mark 1:2-11, we see John the Baptist prepare the way for the King through a call to repentance, confession, and faith. Jesus steps into the waters of baptism, stands with sinners, embraces the Father's mission, and is affirmed as the beloved Son. When we repent and trust in Christ, we are united to him, adopted into God's family, and welcomed into the love of the Father. Scripture: Mark 1:2-11 Series: The King Who Came to Serve
