Ep. 65 5/30/2004 Captain Morgan's Jam on the River, Great Plaza at Penn's Landing, Philadelphia, PA

Happy Memorial Day everyone!! Ahh, the official start of Summer. Grab a drink of your choice, then add some Captain Morgan to it, sit back and relax, because we have got you covered this holiday. 22 years ago, Ween (although not an official "Jam Band") headlined the Captain Morgan Jam on the River festival at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia PA! Coming off of a slammed year of 2003 with the release of Quebec and tour dates out the wazoo, the band took this year a little slower to start. This being the end of May and only being the 5th show, that does not mean the show was phoned in by any means. A jam festival crowd in tow, yes, the band plays some standards, but also get nice and brown for some serious bangers like "Nan", and "The Final Alarm". Then get nice and into deep space with "Captain", and "You Were the Fool", one of the beautiful gems commonly overlooked from the Country album. But the band wasn't stopping there, they would bust out a true rarity with the simple but snappy "Oh My Dear, Falling in Love" with Aaron doing both of the brothers' parts. And how to land this thing? How about the Quebec standout jam song "Zoloft" and back to the Country record for another jewel like "Fluffy"? Oh yeah, now Summer is starting to look promising! Join us on Patreon for some exclusive pics from the day!
