Welcome to Messages of Love. I am Rev. Daryl. I am an ordained minister, and I am looking forward to sharing the podcast with you. I was inspired to focus only on the messages of love found in the Bible by the fictitious character Reverend Paul Ford in the novel, Pollyanna. Rev. Ford could not understand why his sermons of fire and brimstone did not seem to help his congregation in any way. With the help of Pollyanna, he learned to look for the "glad" passages in the Bible. His congregation became very responsive and more loving.
In the same way, I hope these messages will help others.

What happens when God encounters an ordinary person in an ordinary place and calls them to participate in something extraordinary?
In Exodus 3:1–15, Moses encounters God through the mysterious burning bush. God tells Moses to remove his sandals because he is standing on holy ground—and then reveals something even more important: God has seen the suffering of the Israelites, heard their cries, and knows their pain.
But God's response to oppression doesn't end with compassion.
God calls Moses.
This episode explores the Burning Bush story through the themes of holy ground, God's presence, compassion, justice, liberation, courage, and the call to stand with people who are suffering or marginalized.
The story challenges us to ask:
• Where is the holy ground in our everyday lives? • Whose cries are we failing to hear? • What suffering are we being called to notice? • How does God call ordinary people to participate in extraordinary work? • What does “I AM WHO I AM” reveal about God's presence? • What happens when our prayer for justice becomes a personal calling to action?
The burning bush reminds us that God is not indifferent to human suffering.
God sees.
God hears.
God knows.
And sometimes God's answer begins with someone willing to say:
“Here I am.”
