Hi, everyone. If you're like me, you lead a very busy life,
and you're trying to navigate all the chaos that may be happening in your personal life, and then
doing so in the midst of all of the chaos we're experiencing in the world. And that's why we're
coming together, because at the end of the day, we'll be okay. Hi, my name is Heather Carter,
and I'm a mom, a wife, a daughter taking care of her mom. While I am a CEO,
I've been a legislator, I've been a middle school teacher,
a university professor, and sprinkling a little bit of yoga and some woo-woo.
I am excited about sharing my journey with you in hopes that together we can craft this amazing
path to figure out how do we navigate our day-to-day experiences.
while we're also trying to be good stewards in our community and in our states and in our country
and world. So this is the place where we'll be okay together.
Please join me on this journey and find this podcast where you typically find your podcast,
whether that's Apple, Spotify, or YouTube. I'm really excited to do this with you.
And at the end of the day, we'll be okay.
Less Numbing, More Living: What Do You Really Need?
When you reach for a glass of wine, your shopping cart, or another distraction, what are you really reaching for? Heather Carter welcomes her close friend and alcohol freedom coach Emma L. Kinsey for an honest conversation about the needs hiding beneath our everyday habits—and what it means to build a life we don’t need to escape.Emma shares why her work focuses on making alcohol irrelevant, rather than simply resisting it, and how outward success can disguise an internal struggle. Together, they explore the difference between willpower and lasting change, the courage to move in a new direction, and the power of an “eight-minute friend” when life feels overwhelming. With warmth, humor, and stories from their own friendship, Heather and Emma offer two simple invitations: recognize what you truly need, and let someone you trust show up for you.
