This week Rev. Diana Linden joins us as a representative of the Rocky Mountain Synod's "Every Congregation Visit". Like the disciples on the way to Emmaus, She invited us all to look for Jesus on the road we are walking. She stayed after worship and we had a lovely conversation about our ministry and the places we see God in Castle Rock, and all the ways we as a congregation also participate in the work of the Synod and the whole church.

October 11 Sermon: Welcome to the Feast
In today’s parable, Jesus tells the story of a king who throws a wedding feast. The king extends his invitation, but those invited refuse to come. Some even mistreat the messengers sent to remind them of the invitation.
So the king opens the doors even wider, inviting everyone in town—the good and the bad alike. The feast becomes a celebration of the king’s abundant generosity, offered to all.
But then the king notices a man who has come to the feast without fully embracing what it means to be there. At first glance, the king’s response of casting the man out seems confusing, even harsh. But as we sit with this unsettling moment, we begin to see the deeper implications of the parable: the radical generosity of a king whose feast is open to everyone, and the question of what it means to truly accept the invitation.

October 4 Sermon: The Trap of Grace
Jesus is laying a parabolic trap for the religious leaders to judge harshly only for Jesus to turn the trick on them and expose their humanity and need for grace. The cornerstone that the builders reject is a grace so frustrating that it sometimes makes us too uncomfortable to accept. The glory of the cross is that we no longer need to pretend that we are perfect and try and hide our secrets, we get to confess and admit that we are vulnerable human sinners. Faith begins by letting go.
