"Our Special Gift" S2 E3
According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 6 people worldwide, experience infertility.
And while this is traditionally considered a “Woman’s Problem” - Approximately one third of infertility cases are attributed to male partner, one-third to female, and one third to a combination of both.
With the focus of this issue solely on women’s bodies and perspectives, it often leaves men unable to speak about their own infertility and the impact to has on their lives. Between social stigma and insufficient research - the society has somehow isolated the literal other half of what it takes to have a baby, putting unfair pressure on women - another double standard, right up there with the lack of male birth control.

"Not All Heroes Wear Capes" S2 E1
Tim Chernichkin, a paramedic - at the time of this recording - and now a Lieutenant (Go Tim!!!) with over a decade of experience, opens up about the arduous and unpredictable realities of his work as a First Responder. Tim talks about his inspiration to pursue this career, provides background on training and certification, shares several stories of intense child birth situations, and much more!
This was an eye opening dialogue, that not only educated me on the work of a First Responder, but also highlighted some of the nuances - such as cultural and political elements that add challenging layers to the nature of this already difficult work.

"Life Turned Upside Down" - a VOGM Story Part 1
Lena's world turned upside down when, at 38 weeks into her pregnancy, an aneurysm was discovered in her baby's brain. To make matters worse, her doctors weren't sure of what caused it or how to treat it.
While most medical professionals advise against using Google for self diagnosis, in Lena's case doing just that may have saved her daughter's life.
