Two West End besties, Charlie and Josh, are taking turns in the spotlight—each week, they drag their wild, passionate and occasionally (quite often) unhinged ideas to Centre Stage. The twist? The other has no clue what’s coming. It’s a show about swapping worlds, spilling the T, and uncovering the madness that makes our lives interesting. Expect/You should find yourself drawn into unconventional laughs, (very) bold opinions and a celebration of everything that makes us gloriously different.
The horror story of the owner who turns into their pet
This week on West End Girlz, Charlie takes us into the blood-soaked, technicolour world of Dario Argento, the Italian horror maestro whose striking visuals, unsettling suspense and wonderfully twisted imagination helped shape the genre we know today. But beyond the blood, screams and questionable decisions, she asks the big question: why on earth do we love being scared?
Meanwhile, Josh investigates one of humanity’s most divisive debates: dogs versus cats. Are dog people needy, attention-seeking extroverts? Are cat people emotionally unavailable avoidants? And if your choice of pet really does reflect your personality, what does that say about the human condition?
From cinematic murder to domestic furballs, we’re exploring the things that frighten us, the animals we adore, and whether our pets might understand us better than we understand ourselves.
Two topics. Four-legged friends. An alarming amount of psychological projection.

The Olympics to Be the Top Banana
What do bananas, political coups and the potential collapse of the fruit aisle have in common? Absolutely nothing you would expect. This week, Josh peels back the history of one of the world’s most popular fruits, from its journey around the globe to the banana industry’s role in overthrowing governments. But beneath that cheerful yellow skin lies a much darker story of corporate greed, human mistakes and deadly diseases that could leave the humble banana facing extinction. Suddenly, that 15p supermarket bargain feels a lot more important.
Meanwhile, Charlie is diving headfirst into her lifelong love of water. From childhood dreams of Olympic glory to the gruelling training, discipline and dedication it takes to become an elite swimmer, she’s here to explain what it really means to be an Olympian. Unfortunately, being part fish doesn’t automatically make you Michael Phelps, and Charlie has had to come to terms with the fact that her Olympic destiny might remain firmly in the swimming pool of her imagination. This week, we’re going for gold, questioning our life choices and discovering that the world’s most important fruit might be a better athlete than most of us.

Is your soulmate a Brit Abroad?
Are we all connected to someone we’re destined to meet, or is Charlie just being hopelessly romantic again? This week, she takes us to Japan to explore the beautiful legend of the red thread of fate, or Unmei no Akai Ito, the invisible red thread that connects people who are destined to find each other. Is there really such a thing as a soulmate? Is love written in the stars? And is romance actually as magical as Charlie wants us to believe?
Meanwhile, Josh is looking at a very different kind of connection: the special bond between Brits and a week in the sun. From excessive drinking and questionable behaviour to refusing to learn the local language, are British tourists really as bad as everyone says? We might be loud, we might be drunk, and we might only know how to say “two pints, please”, but we also spend a lot of money. So can Charlie convince Josh that true love is worth waiting for, or will Josh convince us that the only thing Brits are destined for abroad is an all-inclusive wristband?
