About What a Gift Podcast

Two friends unwrap ordinary life — the chaos, disappointments, spirals, fresh starts, and weird little joys — and practice receiving it as something that might actually be a gift. We’re not, by nature, the kind of people who look at life’s chaos and chirp, “What a gift!” But maybe we should be. So we’re practicing — one conversation at a time — laughing (and sometimes complaining) our way through the little treats, let-downs, and weird in-between moments that make up life, slowly figuring out how to mean it when we say, “What a gift.”

Because several years ago, I guess at this point I was like, nine years ago I had a piece of glass go through my hand and it severed like tendons in my my right hand which is the hand that I make valentines with and play the piano and write with and you know all these things like it is and and because the tendons got severed like my fingers couldn't move like my pinky and ring finger like just yeah, it was like a big injury and I got, you know, this very delicate surgery that fixed them.
