While it may be frustrating and even endangering for patients to cite Facebook posts as medical evidence or to claim that their research has led them to a better conclusion for a treatment, that is all the more reason to empathize with them. These patients are hurting and they have been wronged by the institutions that are supposed to protect them. It is never the patient's fault that corporations and businesses continue to profit off of their pain. In their mind, they are just trying to find the best answer for their afflictions. […]
