What Had Happened Was

About What Had Happened Was

What Had Happened Was is a storytelling podcast that blurs the line between fact and fiction—where unforgettable characters, chaotic moments, and emotional twists unfold in stories that might be true… or might just feel that way. Told with humor, heart, and a touch of shade, each episode delivers a fresh, narrative-driven experience that pulls from love, loss, friendship, family, identity, and the beautiful mess of being human. Whether it’s funny, moving, triggering, or just plain wild—you’re in the right place. Perfect for fans of fictional podcasts, audio dramas, queer or straight stories, and anyone who loves a good “you had to be there” moment.

S2: E04 - What had Happened Was...the Villain Finally Talks

What had happened was, everyone always asks why—and this time, the villain answers. Not in a monologue. Not in a confession booth. Just a calm, unsettling explanation of how a line got crossed, then justified, then erased completely. This episode flips the usual lens. There’s no chase, no big reveal, no hero swooping in to clean things up. Instead, you’re inside the head of someone who doesn’t see themselves as evil at all. They see logic. Necessity. Timing. They explain the choice, the moment it locked in, and the part everyone else keeps misunderstanding. It’s uncomfortable on purpose. Funny in places you don’t expect. And quietly disturbing in the way real life villains often are—grounded, rational, and a little too relatable if you’re not careful. The story leans into motive over action, control over chaos, and the thin line between being wronged and becoming dangerous. By the end, you may not agree with them—but you’ll understand how they got there. And that’s the part that sticks. What had happened was… sometimes the scariest thing isn’t what the villain did. It’s how much sense they think it made. Season 2 of What Had Happened Was drops you into one night, one moment, one decision that changes everything. Each episode centers on a grounded-in-reality hero or villain—someone ordinary, convinced they’re justified, moving with purpose while everyone else misses the warning signs. These stories aren’t about chaos. They’re about confidence, access, and timing. The tension builds quietly. The line between right and wrong blurs. And by the time the truth surfaces, the damage is already done. S2: E03 | What Had Happened Was...The Pilot and the UFO

What had happened was a routine flight that stopped feeling routine somewhere above the clouds. One pilot. One aircraft. Clear skies. Then something shows up that doesn’t belong on any flight plan and definitely isn’t supposed to be there. This episode stays tight in the cockpit, moving minute by minute as training, instinct, and adrenaline collide. It’s about authority versus intuition, what you’re told to trust, and what happens when your own eyes start rewriting the rules midair. The hero and the villain aren’t obvious here—they shift depending on who you believe and how much certainty you’re willing to let go of. No big explanations. No neat conclusions. Just tension, isolation, and the kind of silence that gets loud when you’re alone in the sky. What had happened was a flight that never really ended, even after the wheels touched down. S2: E02 | What Had Happened Was...Justin Bieber Met My Kid - Part Two

This episode unfolds over one quiet night inside Justin Bieber’s home. No break-in. No chaos. Just access and timing. While Justin is present and comfortable, someone he trusts moves freely through the house. The target isn’t money, it’s a white suit tied to one of the most dissected moments of his career. Not stolen for resale, but for possession. For proximity to a moment that never belonged to the thief. By the time unease turns into suspicion, the suit is gone. What remains is the unsettling truth about fame, admiration can curdle into entitlement. What had happened was the suit wasn’t just clothing. It was history. And someone decided it was theirs.
