In our final ‘What He’s Done’ testimonial, we will hear what all of us experience as we learn how to walk with Jesus in our lives: The struggle of surrendering our will for His will. When we gain new life in Christ, it is critical to know that the process of yielding to His will for our lives does not come naturally. It is natural to do our will and move in a way that seeks our preferences in all the aspects of life, and yet God calls us as Image Bearers, alive in His Spirit, to know Him through the living of His will. Do you know how to deny, die and follow? That is Jesus’ call for all who would come after Him. And a soul surrender to His will is a soul who is able to hear, listen and follow.

Called for Purpose | Happy Peterson | 1 Samuel 3
It doesn’t matter your age, your standing in life, or anything else. God calls to each of us. He calls us to come know Him. His desire is that none should perish and all should come to repentance. What does it mean then, for us to be called by Him? How do we hear His voice in all the noise of life. What purpose does He call us to? His will for us is not some cosmic easter egg hunt where we can miss out if we don’t guess it correctly. He knows us, He loves us, and He is faithful to continue His work in our lives. Today let’s slow ourselves down and listen for His voice.

Celebration Sunday! We love having the kids in the room with us. We love taking some time to say ‘thanks’ to God for His goodness over the last few months. And we love taking a little time to pray for God’s mercies and direction over the upcoming school year. In keeping with our theme of “What He’s Done,” we will look briefly at how the apostle Paul encourages us to stay the course. God is not done working in your life. He wants to do something in your heart and through you to others. He’s a big, awesome God that has it all under His command. And, He loves and cares for you. Let’s celebrate that together today.

In most of our stories, we should be able to recognize moments when God either brings a test to us or allows a circumstance to enter so that our faith in and on Him is refined and proved worthy. It’s a test; a good test. And so often, this refining test involves hanging onto something (or not), that you value more than your relationship with Him. How do you respond? In your story of life in Jesus, you will have choices that prove to Him and yourself, that you cherish nothing more than Him… or not. And how you choose will be those critical times in life when you can know Him more, or become embittered, disgruntled and disobedient. If God asked you to let go of something, would you do it? And is there anything in your life which He cannot ask you to lay down?

Unseen Battle | Mike Castelli | Ephesians 6:10-18
While we do not speak of this often, or even as often as we should, many challenges that we have in this life involve so much more than the physical realm. In fact, Scripture tells us that we live in this ‘present darkness’ where spiritual forces of evil are very real, present and active. And God has made a way of defense to keep us and make us to stand, for He has overcome the darkness, and He who dwells in us is greater than he who is in the world. Are you aware of the forces of evil in this present darkness, and have you put on the armor of God that will keep you safe in the spiritual realm? Let us hear stories of deliverance as we come together and be sure that His strength is our strength in this battle.
