In this episode, I pull back the curtain on the darker side of healthcare—patient neglect, questionable practices, institutional failures, and the retaliation healthcare workers can face when they dare to speak up.
Drawing from my own experiences and the troubling realities of patient advocacy, I ask a question we should all be asking: When protecting an institution or individual becomes more important than protecting its patients, who is really being cared for?
It's an uncomfortable conversation, but one that desperately needs to happen.

EPISODE 3: What Kind Of Care Is This, Really?
When someone gets sick, they don't just go to a 'nursing home'-they enter a system most people don't understand. In this episode, I break down the different types of care: hospitals, rehabs, assisted living, skilled nursing and hospice-what they are, who they are for and how people actually end up there, because these terms get thrown around like they are interchangable-and they are not.
LPN's haven't always been a part of healthcare-they were created out of necessity. In this episode, we break down how practical (vocational) nurses came into existence during a time of nursing shortage, how the role evolved and why different states even use different titles like LPN vs LVN. We also take a closer look at the differences between CNA's, LPN's and RN's-how each role was designed, what they actually do and how the system is structured. More importantly, we explore how that structure has shaped perception-and how a division of responsibility can sometimes turn into a division of value. This is to help us further understand how the system we work within was built and how it affects the people working inside it every day.
