Episode 33 - SMEGL Cup Recap (2026)
The first SMEGL Cup is over, and the real story is not just who won - it's how six states, four-player teams, and a brand-new format changed the way everyone approached the game. Tyler sits down with Tim and David to break down what actually happened behind the scenes, where the biggest strategic edges came from, and why this event felt more like a pressure cooker than a normal tournament. With the Cup built around state teams, locked list restrictions, scenario planning, and hidden matchup decisions, every choice mattered more than usual. Tim and David unpack how Alabama and Florida built their rosters, why some teams leaned into comfort picks while others tried to engineer matchups, and how the event's table and scenario assignments forced last-minute adjustments that no spreadsheet could fully predict.

Episode 32 - SMEGL Cup Preview Part 2 (List Reviews)
Are you interested in learning what armies will be brought to the first ever SMEGL Cup? Are you curious to discover what some of SMEGL's top players have deemed as viable and competitive at 850 points? Are you eager to hear some mediocre opinions and prove both Tyler and Joe wrong? Then give this episode a listen and get geared up for SMEGL's first masters style event!!
On a separate note, I apologize for the quality of the recording. For some reason the software cut off Joe's audio during large parts of the second half of the episode. Additionally, I could not remove the sound of my son yelling in the background while discussing Perry's list. I hope you can still manage to enjoy the episode despite its shortcomings.
Lastly, please know that Joe and I were not trying to insult any of the players during this review. We were simply trying to provide a mix of funny and honest commentary. We know all players attending are both excellent people and skilled at the game, and we wish everyone luck. If nothing else, please go out there and prove us wrong!
