   The Missing Piece with Dr. Rick Graebe - ADHD

   More than six million American children have been diagnosed with ADHD. And for many of them, that diagnosis is accurate. But research now shows that children with ADHD are three times more likely to have an undiagnosed vision problem — and that in some cases, that vision problem isn't a side effect of ADHD. It's the explanation for it. In this episode, Dr. Rick Graebe breaks down the striking overlap between ADHD symptoms and functional vision disorders — including convergence insufficiency, ambient pathway disruption, and visual processing deficits that no standard eye exam is checking for. He explains why a child who can't sit still for close work may not be inattentive — they may be physically uncomfortable. Why a child who loses their place reading may not have a learning disability — they may have eyes that can't stay coordinated. And why a child who melts down after school may not be dysregulated — they may be depleted. This episode is for every parent who has been handed an ADHD diagnosis and still has questions.
