Paris Events Week: Museums, Concerts, and Saturday Demonstrations

Paris has a lively week ahead, although listeners should check local updates before heading out because demonstrations and temporary security restrictions may affect central districts. Today, Wednesday, October 21, families can begin at Citéco, the City of Economics and Money, where a philosophy visit for children runs from 10:30 to 11:15 in the morning. The museum also offers an augmented-reality visit from 11:30 until 5, followed by a guided tour of Hôtel Gaillard, the remarkable château-like building that houses Citéco, from 2:30 to 3:30. A hands-on workshop called Make Your Ticket runs from 3 to 4:30. For an evening of music, Art Garfunkel is scheduled at the Olympia at 8 tonight. The concert offers a classic Paris night in one of the city’s historic music halls. The event listing also names LE SSERAFIM at Accor Arena, so pop fans may want to check the arena’s ticket information for the latest details. Thursday brings more activities at Citéco. Art d’éco takes place from 10:30 to noon, augmented reality tours continue from 11:30 to 5, and the playful finance-themed Ecogame, The Wolf of Finance, runs from 2:30 to 3:30. On Friday, October 23, the museum presents Jeanne and the Quest for the Magic Remedy, a storytelling visit from 10:30 to 11:15. The augmented-reality experience returns during the day, and the Market Game runs from 4:30 to 5:30, making a fun late-afternoon option for families. Saturday, October 24, includes another Make Your Ticket workshop from 3 to 4:30, as well as the mystery-style birthday treasure hunt The Case of the Necklace, listed from 3 to 4:15. However, Saturday is also the date of planned demonstrations connected with rising living costs and public services. Authorities have announced a major security operation, and curfews or gathering restrictions may apply around République, Les Halles, the Champs-Élysées, and other central areas. Sunday, October 25, offers a gentler finale: storytelling at 10:30, augmented reality from 11:30 to 5, an introductory economics tour at 2:30, the Case of the Necklace treasure hunt at 3, and the Market Game from 4:30 to 5:30. Paris Wakes to Protest Disruption as City Offers Family Activities and Repair Workshops This Sunday

Paris is waking up to a complicated Sunday, October 18, after Saturday’s nationwide protests over the cost of living brought major disruption to parts of the capital. Reports from The Independent and AFP describe clashes, fires, looting, and a heavy police presence, particularly around Place de la République, the Champs-Élysées, and the Arc de Triomphe. Listeners should check local transport and police updates before heading into central Paris, and avoid demonstrations or any areas where streets remain closed. Away from the unrest, the city still offers a few welcoming ways to spend the day. At Parc Montsouris in the fourteenth arrondissement, the Course du Dodo brings families together for a parent-and-child race. The program includes a 1.5-kilometre course for children from age five, plus a longer 6.5-kilometre route for participants aged fourteen and older. The park is at 2 rue Gazan, with activities scheduled from the morning into the afternoon. In the twentieth arrondissement, Repair Eco Place at 95 rue d’Avron is hosting a free battery and appliance-care workshop from four until eight in the evening. Organised by Re-Watt as part of the national repair days, the session offers practical advice for extending the life of batteries used in bicycles, scooters, tools, and other devices. Visitors can also receive a preliminary battery assessment, and no advance registration is required. For a slower afternoon, Caf’contes at Café de la Mairie, 51 rue de Bretagne, presents storytelling from one until three. The event is aimed at adults and costs fifteen euros, making it a cosy option in the Marais area. Looking ahead to next weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints are scheduled to play the NFL’s first regular-season game in Paris at Stade de France on October 25. Yahoo Sports reports that the league says preparations remain on schedule, although listeners should verify security arrangements, transport plans, and final event confirmation before travelling to Saint-Denis. For the rest of this week, publicly available listings remain limited, and the situation around central Paris may change quickly. Keep plans flexible, favour neighbourhood venues, and confirm opening times directly with organisers. Thanks for tuning in, listeners. Remember to subscribe for more Paris guides and local updates. Paris This Weekend: Running, Art, and Family Fun Amid Transit Delays

Paris is bursting with things to do from today, Saturday, October 17, through next weekend. Start in the nineteenth arrondissement at Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, where the Foulée Solidaire du 19e brings together runners, walkers, and neighborhood groups. The five-kilometer walk begins at 9:30 in the morning, followed by a ten-kilometer race at 10:30. Registration costs two euros for the walk or ten euros for the race, with friendly activities for all ages. For something more artistic, head to the Jardin des Plantes today or tomorrow. The Artistes au Muséum opening weekend features free workshops, guided visits, music, dance, theater, naturalist drawing, sculpture, and collaborative art. Saturday evening adds a special nocturnal performance by the Murmuration, Level 2 dance company inside the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution. The Jardin des Plantes also offers Automne Tropical in the Grandes Serres, a journey through the world of palms, while the Ménagerie celebrates Halloween with animal-themed activities from 2 to 5 each afternoon. Beauty fans can browse a Korean cosmetics sale at MiiN Cosmetics, 39 Rue du Four in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Skincare, makeup, and accessories are available from one euro fifty to twenty euros, today from 10:30 in the morning until 9 at night. Families may enjoy Cendrillon at the Théâtre de la Madeleine at 11 this morning, or explore Citéco in the afternoon with an augmented-reality visit, a guided tour of Hôtel Gaillard, or a historical treasure hunt. A practical warning for today: demonstrations are expected across central Paris, and the RATP has announced numerous metro station closures and trains passing without stopping. Check transport updates before traveling near République, Bastille, Concorde, Opéra, Madeleine, or the Champs-Élysées. Tomorrow, Sunday, October 18, the Musée des Arts et Métiers presents Let There Be Light at 3 in the afternoon. This one-hour science show combines experiments, illusions, and humor. Tickets cost ten euros, plus a one-euro online booking fee. From Thursday, October 22, through Monday, October 26, Pariscience returns with its international science-film festival. Screenings are free, reservations are recommended for theater sessions, and online viewing requires booking. The following weekend brings additional Let There Be Light performances on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, both at 3 in the afternoon. Thanks for tuning in, listeners, and remember to subscribe. This has been a quiet please production, for more check out quiet please dot ai.
