From Separate Dysfunctional Worlds to One Big Blended Family
In this episode, we share the journey from two broken pasts to building one blended family. We open up about what made us ready for marriage after difficult divorces and how a symbolic “Letting Go” ceremony helped us leave the past behind.
Blending our boys felt natural at first, filled with fun moments like kitchen cook-offs and trust-building experiences. But soon, we realized we hadn’t discussed our very different parenting styles, leading to challenges and conflicts. Faith played a big role in bringing us together, but it took work to keep it at the center as life got busy.
We talk about establishing new family traditions, navigating differences, and offer raw advice for couples considering remarriage with kids. Blending families isn’t easy, but with love, patience, and faith, it’s possible to create something beautiful.
