2nd 2026 Awards Season Update - Reactions and Predictions
<p>Hello again Watchers! We're through the first wave of Awards Season, with many surprises and snubs already, to go along with some well-deserved recognition for the great art that was made last year. </p><p>Recorded a few days prior to today's Academy Awards Nominations, Brandon welcomes back Colorado-based filmmaker Luke Antonio to review the Critics Choice and Golden Globe Awards' winners, as well as make their final predictions for what was nominated today. </p><p></p><p>What performances deserve to be recognized? What films are more craft-heavy? Are there any films that are being overlooked or overhyped? Critics Choice and Golden Globes Nominations Recap

With the Critics Choice Awards just around the corner (January 4th, 2026) and the Golden Globes shortly after (January 11th, 2026), Brandon sits down with Colorado-based filmmaker Luke Antonio to discuss the nominees for both the Critics Choice and Golden Globe Awards, as well as the Netflix/Warner Bros. merger. </p><p></p><p>What films overlapped on both early-season ballots? What surprises, snubs, and surges came from the nominations? 2026 Awards Season Kickoff - 36 Potential Oscar Contenders
