A British survey of over 47 million road tests found that high mileage electric cars are more reliable than gas models of the same age. Researchers looked at cars with 90,000 to 120,000 miles and found that electric vehicles are 25% less likely to fail road safety tests than traditional gas-powered cars. It seems the success of EVs in the long run has a lot to do with the simplicity of the machines as EVs normally have only 20 to 30 moving parts inside the engine block compared to gas cars who have 2,000 moving parts.
