About What’s On My Mind Today with Timothy Ivy: Faith for Real Life
“What’s On My Mind Today is a short, biweekly podcast sharing honest reflections on faith and real life. Each episode offers a brief thought from a man of God on everyday moments—no hype, no performance, just real life, Scripture, and gentle, truth-filled encouragement to help you notice God’s presence in your own day.
On My Mind Today: When Faith Sounds Like Empty Words
Why are we here? Why do love, loss, injustice, guilt, beauty, and death affect us so deeply? And why can Christian phrases like “grace,” “sin,” “saved by Jesus,” and “created for God” sound like empty words when no one explains them?
In this episode, I’m having an honest conversation about human purpose, brokenness, Jesus, grace, and the questions we are all living inside of.
This is not about pressuring anyone into religion. It is about considering whether the Bible makes sense of the meaning, pain, longing, and hope we all experience.
Your questions matter. You are not beyond the reach of God’s grace.

When Your Mind Is Full, Make Room for Your Heart
When your mind is crowded with responsibilities, unfinished thoughts, and the noise of everyday life, it can become hard to hear what is truly on your heart. In this episode of What’s on My Mind Today?, we talk about the danger of treating capacity as if it has no limit—and the invitation to make room for stillness.
Jesus stepped away from the crowds and demands to be with the Father, not as an escape from His purpose, but as the source of His clarity, strength, peace, and direction. If you have been pouring and pouring, this is your reminder: your mind needs margin, your heart needs room, and your spirit needs time with God.
What part of your own crowded schedule might be asking you to make room for stillness?

When Pain Clouds the Lens
When pain, trauma, loss, and distraction cloud our spiritual vision, it can become difficult to remember who we are, whose we are, and why we are here.
In this episode, we reflect on the brokenness people endure and the lies that can ensnare us through what happened. But what happened to you is not the end of your story. Through Christ, there is restoration, renewed vision, and strength to stand up in the purpose God placed within you.
The debris may be real—but it does not have to become your permanent viewpoint.

On My Mind Today: When the Tool Starts Using You
When does a useful tool become something that begins to use us?
In this episode, I reflect on life behind a glowing screen—especially when work, entertainment, distraction, and escape all live in the same place. Technology can be valuable, necessary, and even part of our calling. But when we continually numb out, lose hours, or neglect presence with God and people, it may be time to pause.
Our lives with God and people are too valuable to numb out in front of a glowing screen.
This is not about shame or rejecting technology. It is an invitation to notice what is shaping our attention, reclaim our presence, and use our tools without being used by them.
What is one boundary that could help you be more present today?

We Didn't Know What We Had Until The Power Went Out
On my mind today: gratitude in a blackout. Our whole neighborhood lost power right in the middle of my remote shift—everything went dark, stress kicked in… until I remembered we already had two fully charged power stations sitting in the house. In seconds, we went from panic to praise: router back on, lamp lit, kids saying, “Now this feels like home,” and all of us thanking God out loud. This episode is about that moment—how easily we take His daily provision for granted, and how powerful it is when gratitude becomes our first response, not our last resort. What’s one “ordinary” gift in your life—like light, work, or family—that you want to stop and thank God for right now?
