   Jesus: The Word

Jesus: The Word What if we stopped reading the Bible simply as a collection of stories and began reading it as one story—the story of Jesus? In this episode, Abby and Sally take a journey through Scripture, tracing the threads that point to Jesus from Genesis through the Old Testament and into the Gospels. From creation, Noah, Abraham and Isaac, Joseph, Moses and the Passover, Joshua, David, the prophets, and the promises of the coming Messiah, we explore the beautiful ways Scripture continually points us toward the Savior. Jesus wasn't God's backup plan. He wasn't an afterthought. He was always the point. He is the Word, the promise, the Passover Lamb, the Redeemer, the Shepherd, the Savior, the King, and ultimately the One who makes all things new. Our prayer is that this conversation would encourage you to open your Bible with fresh eyes—not simply looking for what Scripture can tell you about yourself, but looking for what it reveals about God's heart and His love for humanity. And in today's trauma-informed segment, we talk about something every person encounters at some point: rejection. For those who have experienced trauma, rejection can sometimes touch wounds that go much deeper than the moment itself. We talk about the ways rejection can show up as people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, anger, withdrawal, insecurity, or the belief that someone else's rejection somehow means something about our worth. But rejection does not define you. Someone can reject you without God rejecting you. Someone can leave you without God leaving you. Someone can fail to recognize your worth without God losing sight of who He created you to be. Healing doesn't mean pretending we weren't hurt. It means learning that our hurt doesn't have to define us. So take a breath, open your Bible, and come discover the One who has been there from the beginning. Jesus is the prize. Jesus is the promise. Jesus is the hope. Jesus is the Word.

   Beloved

Beloved In a world that can feel increasingly dark and overwhelming, Sally Russell and Abby Bailey remind us of a life-changing truth: you are beloved. In this episode, Sally and Abby look at the life of John—the disciple who called himself “the disciple Jesus loved”—and explore what it means to live from an identity rooted in God’s love rather than comparison, competition, striving, or insecurity. John’s journey from “Son of Thunder” to the beloved disciple offers a beautiful picture of what happens when we truly understand who Jesus is and who we are in Him. Together, Sally and Abby talk about childlike faith, finding freedom from comparison, reading Scripture through the lens of God’s love, and learning to let His light shine through us. And in a world filled with darkness, we need each other. We need to encourage one another, carry one another’s burdens, and keep one another’s light burning. You are not in competition with the person beside you. There is only one you—and God created you on purpose. You are His beloved. Jesus is enough. And love wins every time.

   On This Rock

When Your Blowout Isn’t the End What happens when you love Jesus, have seen His faithfulness, and still find yourself falling apart when life doesn’t go the way you expected? In this episode of Whispers of Hope, we take an honest look at Peter—not just the bold disciple who walked on water and declared his devotion to Jesus, but the Peter who failed, denied Jesus three times, and went back to what was familiar. Peter’s story reminds us that failure does not have the final word. Jesus met Peter on the shore, restored him, and called him forward again. His “blowout” became part of the story God used to shape him into a bold witness for the Gospel. Maybe you’ve felt disqualified by your past, your failures, your flesh, or the ways life has shaken your faith. Maybe you’ve found yourself running back to something familiar because you don’t know what else to do. But returning to what you know does not mean your story is over. Jesus still meets us there. He still loves us there. He still restores us there. And He still calls us to follow Him. In this episode, we talk about being sifted, learning to let go of our expectations of how God should work, laying down our pride and our flesh, and allowing Jesus to refine us into who He has called us to be. You don't have to be polished or perfect. You just have to say yes. Your failures don't disqualify you. Your blowout doesn't have to be the end. Let Jesus turn your sifting into revival.
