Mike Ayyash - The Places Changed...The Mission Never Did

Some people build winning teams. Others build better people. Mike Ayyash has spent his career doing both. From his early days helping transform Whitecaps London into one of Ontario's most respected youth soccer clubs, to his leadership with Vancouver Whitecaps, representing Canada as an Assistant Coach with the Canadian Women's Under-20 National Team, and now embarking on an exciting new chapter as Academy Director for the Halifax Tides of the Northern Super League, Mike's journey has always been about developing people first. What stood out most during this conversation wasn't his impressive résumé or the incredible opportunities he's earned. It was his humility. Mike speaks with genuine gratitude for every opportunity, every player, every coach, and every community that has been part of his journey. His passion for the game is unmistakable, but even more inspiring is the way he measures success—not by titles or trophies, but by the relationships he builds and the lives he helps shape along the way. In this episode, we reflect on his journey from Halifax to London, his years helping build the culture at Whitecaps London, his experiences with Vancouver Whitecaps and Canada Soccer, and the exciting opportunity to return his knowledge and leadership to his home province as he helps build the future of youth development with the Halifax Tides. Whether you're a coach, player, parent, or simply someone who appreciates authentic leadership, this conversation is full of thoughtful insights, inspiring stories, and a powerful reminder that the greatest impact we can have is often measured in the people we influence. Mike Ayyash is one of the very best our game has to offer, and we're honoured to share his story. Enjoy the conversation.
