Grab your Bible and join us from The Savannah Mission Bible Training Center as we continue to work through the Baptist Catechism. Tonight we take up Question 53 and the words "before Me" in the first commandment—words that mean God sees everything we do, even what we try to hide. We will look at a vision in which God shows His people putting other gods in His house: a public idol at the door, secret worship in the dark, misplaced grief given to a false hope, and worshipers turning their backs on Him. The point is simple and searching: no rival god stays hidden, the Lord notices and is displeased, and the good news is that Jesus stood before the Father in our place so we can come into the light and worship Him with a whole heart.

A Family Affair
Have you ever wondered why every one of us is a sinner—not merely because we sin, but because we were born that way? God appointed Adam as the covenant head of the human race. The covenant of works was made with him not only for himself but for all who would descend from him. When Adam willfully disobeyed, his guilt was imputed to us and a corrupted nature was conveyed to us. That is original sin: the guilt of Adam's first transgression and the inherited corruption of our whole nature. Death spread to all people because all sinned in Adam. This is not merely a dark doctrine. It is the necessary backdrop that makes the gospel shine. There is a last Adam. Where the first Adam's disobedience made many sinners, the obedience of Jesus Christ makes many righteous. Join us as we open Scripture together on Adam's covenant headship and original sin—and see why this truth drives us to the only Head who can save.

Hope In Affliction (2)
This week we continue Hope in Affliction with Part 2: Rescued and Delivered, from 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18. Some in Thessalonica were grieving as if the dead in Christ would miss the Lord's coming. Paul says no. Jesus died and rose; God will bring them with Him. The Lord Himself will descend with a cry of command, the dead in Christ will rise first, and then we who are alive will be caught up together with them—and so we will always be with the Lord. Come be comforted, and come ready to comfort one another. Grab your Bible and join us as we look to the return of our Lord and Savior and the hope that reality brings us in our troubles.
