Podcast Overview

Welcome to The Whole Faith Podcast, where we go deep into the things of God. We're your hosts, Marcus and Jessa Myer - a husband-and-wife team passionate about pursuing and telling the Truth. The more we study Scripture, the more we experience the ever-growing joy and pleasure found only in Jesus. We’ve been doing ministry together for the past 15 years, and one thing we’ve seen over and over again is that so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are desperately hungry for a deeper teaching of God’s Word. In each episode, we explore theology, doctrine, and practical wisdom that every believer should have the confidence to pursue. Join us as we uncover essential truths from Scripture and tackle difficult, sometimes controversial questions to provide you with biblical answers. Where the Enemy wants to keep the Church in a place of shallow faith and theological insecurity, our hope is that these conversations will equip you with boldness and assurance! Now, let’s grow deeper together in a faith that is wholly rooted in God’s sovereign grace.

Everyday Theologian: Sola Scriptura

<p>In this episode, we kick off our new series, Everyday Theologian, where we unpack essential doctrines of the faith. Inspired by his seminary professor years ago, Marcus took a challenge to compile a personal statement of faith for our family. We are using this statement of faith as an outline for the episodes in this series. We encourage our brothers and sisters to become everyday theologians! Theology and doctrine is not only for paid church staff, seminary students, or Bible college professors. We are all called to a deeper, more intimate knowledge of the Lord and His Word. Our first doctrine to unpack is Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone). Listen in as we discuss the importance of holding Scripture as the ultimate authority over church tradition, church leadership, cultural influence, or individual opinion. </p><p><strong>Visit our website:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co</a></p><p><strong>Read our blog:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/blog" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co/blog</a></p><p><strong>Check out our favorite resources:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/resources" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co/resources</a></p><p><strong>Follow us on Instagram:</strong> <a href="https://instagram.com/wholefaith.co" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">instagram.com/wholefaith.co</a></p><p><strong>Subscribe on YouTube:</strong> <a href="https://youtube.com/wholefaithco" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">youtube.com/wholefaithco</a></p><p><strong>Email us:</strong> hello@wholefaith.co</p>

How Do You Read Your Bible?

<p>In this episode, we discuss different ways in which many Christians approach Bible reading, Bible study, and practicing spiritual disciplines. Is it haphazard, random, inconsistent, systematic, purposeful? We talk about what works for us (and many others) when it comes to intentionally and purposefully studying God’s Word for better understanding and knowledge of who He is.</p><p><strong>Visit our website:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co</a></p><p><strong>Read our blog:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/blog" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co/blog</a></p><p><strong>Check out our favorite resources:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/resources" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co/resources</a></p><p><strong>Follow us on Instagram:</strong> <a href="https://instagram.com/wholefaith.co" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">instagram.com/wholefaith.co</a></p><p><strong>Subscribe on YouTube:</strong> <a href="https://youtube.com/wholefaithco" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">youtube.com/wholefaithco</a></p><p><strong>Email us:</strong> hello@wholefaith.co</p>

Is Learning Theology & Doctrine Important for the Everyday Christian?

<p>In this episode, we discuss the roles that theology and doctrine play in maturing Christians, not just paid church staff, seminary professors, or Bible scholars. We define “theology” and “doctrine,” talk about the differences and why both are important, and ultimately give you practical advice to begin your own whole faith journey towards biblical literacy and a deeper relationship with Christ. </p><p><strong>Visit our website:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co</a></p><p><strong>Read our blog:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/blog" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co/blog</a></p><p><strong>Check out our favorite resources:</strong> <a href="https://wholefaith.co/resources" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">wholefaith.co/resources</a></p><p><strong>Follow us on Instagram:</strong> <a href="https://instagram.com/wholefaith.co" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">instagram.com/wholefaith.co</a></p><p><strong>Subscribe on YouTube:</strong> <a href="https://youtube.com/wholefaithco" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">youtube.com/wholefaithco</a></p><p><strong>Email us:</strong> hello@wholefaith.co </p>
