   258. Creating Sacred Spaces: Initiating Your Own Holy Spirit Group

Have you ever felt like you were learning a lot about God — checking all the boxes, doing all the right things — and yet something in your spirit kept leaning forward, whispering there has to be more than this? Friend, that holy restlessness is not a problem to fix. It is an invitation from the Holy Spirit Himself. In this episode, Kristin shares the story of how her own hunger led her into a life-changing small group — and eventually to opening up her own living room — and she walks you through how you can do the same. You don't need a curriculum, a big group, or a theological degree. You just need a posture of childlike faith and a willingness to say yes to the stirring. Hunger is your qualification. […] And physically, I was there. I could actually smell like I could actually hear people around me, the joys of summer. But spiritually, I was with Him, again, Him inviting me to lay things down, lay down my anxiousness, lay down the impatience, lay down my boredom, lay down my distrust, and in exchange, creativity, gratitude, peace. And I took maybe 10 minutes total being at the park. And it has seared a little imprint in my brain of that encounter time with him. And over and over, he has continued to remind me this week, come and sit with me here in the secret place by the water. And watch how I wait. […]
