Why does Rashi explain the "obvious"?

Can you mourn something you don't understand?
Just before the kinos, Rabbi Klapper admits something honest: he could not understand Kina Vav — the sixth kina, a poetic acrostic that begins only at the letter Samech. And it's not the only one. Many kinos are simply beyond our grasp, especially in their difficult Hebrew. But the key was never the words. Even when we cannot connect to the language, we can still connect to the pnimius — the soul, the pain, the sorrow the kinos represent. And that pain, Rabbi Klapper says, is all around us. Our post-Holocaust generation was uniquely sheltered — 75 years of relative calm to rebuild the Torah world — but we are now back inside the mainstream of Jewish history, facing the same hatred Jews have faced for 2,000 years. And more painful still: some of our own are working to cut us off from our life source, trampling Torah and spitting on those who keep it.
He anchors it in the Tochacha of Bechukosai and Rashi's reading — "we do not listen" means we do not toil in Torah — and in the Ramban's chilling observation on Eicha: he saw something worse than mothers eating their children; he saw mothers feeding their children chazir. The Haftarah's answer from Yirmiyahu is blunt: the land was lost "because you left My Torah." Even our personal pain — the illness, the young people adrift in the streets searching for satisfaction in the sewer — flows from the same distance from Hashem. Tisha B'Av is the day to face our reality and cry, to take stock of who we are and where we are holding, and to channel that pain into tefillah.
