J and Diane welcome special guest Shelly Altman, member of Jewish Voice for Peace, New Haven chapter, to share what he is giving af about for this week's Street Tea series. This episode was recorded on October 7th marking the 3rd year of an ongoing genocide in Gaza and increasing violence in the West Bank- occupied Palestine. Shelly gives important timeline and context to what is happening in Palestine and what he believes is the historical trauma that is impacting the world.
Shelly Altman is a software developer who has traded in software design for campaign organizing. He organizes for the New Haven chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, both on his bike and off. He has cycled the length of the West Bank from Jenin to Al Khalil (Hebron), and loves the contours of the land, the people who live on it, and even the hills that challenged him.
