   In this episode, we have a slight turn of events in that this is our webinar that we did about the 18k fine for Birthlink Charity. The aim of Birthlink is to enhance the well-being and promote the welfare of all people affected by adoption with a Scottish connection. However, Birth Link came under fire after they destroyed records too soon relating to adoptees. The ICO fined them specifically for poor Records Management which is Emily's specialism but it crosses over into Data Protection too. #fine #records #charity #databreaches #gdpr #dataprotection

[…] And I think that's where the balance really has to be. But I, I see digital ideas as making it easier for departments to deliver benefits and services to people rather than less. And that's what we don't see. And coming back to the idea of, you know, the, the European identity cards, which have been around for many, many years, you know, they're absolutely a hand off with a, uh, with a code that says, uh, is Christina allowed to have access to the health records in this way? So it's like, um, yes, because you're showing us the digital ID. You know, we do use passwords, we do use drives licenses, we do use certificates in, in the UK, why not have one that's similar to the ID card and go, well, rather than the other big out three things or, or something from somewhere, we all have this one code that we can use to get access to it. […]
