She covers everything from ice cream to Oregon's legal psilocybin program to car-less travel. She was born in Oregon and began her journalism career in high school as a writer for the Corvallis Gazette-Times' teen page, "Hardly Minor." Her book of short stories, "Monster Party," was published in 2010.    About Destiny: Destiny Johnson is a three-time Regional Murrow Award-winning social media producer at The Oregonian/OregonLive. She started her career in television journalism in her home state of Florida before moving to the Portland NBC affiliate station KGW. She has been at The Oregonian/OregonLive in 2022. She now focuses on nerd-centric and community-based stories. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus in photography from the University of Florida in 2016. She also thinks it’s weird to write about herself in third person but likes plants, crocheting and hanging out with her dog when she’s not doing the journalism thing.
