Return to Running Postpartum: If You Were My Client - Amber

When can you start running again after having a baby? And how do you know if your body is actually ready? Returning to Running After Baby In this episode, Amber talks about how to safely return to running postpartum and why getting cleared at your six-week appointment doesn't necessarily mean you're ready to run. She walks through the steps of rebuilding strength after birth, starting with breathwork and walking, then progressing to strength training, plyometrics, and running intervals. She also explains what to look for before adding impact and why it's important to pay attention to symptoms like leaking, pelvic heaviness, and pain. Every postpartum experience is different. Your birth, breastfeeding, sleep, stress, and overall recovery can all affect when you're ready to run again. Amber breaks down what to consider and how to approach the process without rushing it. In this episode: Why your six-week postpartum clearance doesn't automatically mean you're ready to run Where to start with movement in the early weeks after birth Why strength training matters for runners How to work your way back to running with intervals The return-to-running test and how to know if you're ready How your birth experience and recovery can affect your timeline Breastfeeding, hormones, and pelvic floor health How sleep, stress, nutrition, and hydration affect your recovery Signs that your body might need more time before running The takeaway: You don't have to rush back into running. Take the time to rebuild your strength, pay attention to how your body feels, and make sure you're ready before adding impact. Home Birth Story: Johanna's Birth + Season 3 Life Updates

Season 3 is here! After a year-long hiatus, Amber and Johanna reunite in person for the first time ever to share massive life updates, Johanna's raw and unfiltered home birth story, and a powerful conversation about motherhood, identity, and why "bounce back" culture needs to go. Rebuild Better, Don’t Bounce Back We’re talking about what it really looks like to rebuild your life after becoming a mom—new cities, new careers, new friendships, and a completely new version of yourself. Johanna shares the wild, raw story of CeCe’s unmedicated home birth, from months of intense Braxton Hicks and pre-term labor scares to an unforgettable 40+1 labor filled with shaking, vomiting, surrender, and ultimately, roaring her baby into the world. We also talk about the realities of starting over as adults: leaving behind support systems, rebuilding community, navigating motherhood and work, and choosing the people you want around you. In this episode: Johanna’s transition into motherhood, life on her family’s orchard, and growing Wild Muse Amber’s move to Idaho and the challenge of rebuilding her village Both husbands leaving stable jobs and taking a leap of faith Making friends and building community as an adult Johanna’s intense, primal home birth story and the arrival of CeCe The powerful moment that helped Johanna stop resisting and surrender to birth Why “bounce back” is the wrong goal after having kids How motherhood can make you more resilient, efficient, and intentional Preparing your body and mind for home birth Trusting your body, your intuition, and the generations of women who came before you The takeaway: You’re not meant to bounce back to who you were. You’re meant to rebuild better, into someone stronger, braver, and more fully yourself *All of the information discussed in this episode is for entertainment and education purposes only, please do not take this information as medical advice.
