About Wildcatdojo Conversations

Karate is for everyone. So, join us each week for a 20 to 25 minute conversation on all types of subjects. We go from managing the distractions of daily life, through martial arts history and people, and common sense concepts to add to your self defense armor. Plus we have interviews and so much more. After spending over 40 years discussing life's challenges in a dojo, (both as a student and as a teacher) I decided it would be fun to share the conversations with everyone. And it is! We're having a great time with our guests each week thinking, talking and very importantly sharing a laugh or two along the way.

We've talked about it quite a few times. Here is one of...

   We Talk Contempt

It's true, somehow Sensei Jackie, Sensei Landyn and I got to the word contempt. But also, we celebrate surpassing 7 years of podcasting. But back to contempt.... The impetus to this was a simple pop up screen one day and I'm surprised to say we had so much more fun that I expected. Early in the episode Sensei Landyn mentions Brene Brown. I mention the spelling here in case you want to look her up. I did - very interesting. This episode brought up an old interview with our fr...

Teaching Kids Karate - We have Stories

A special thanks to Sensei Landyn for opening the show. Sensei Jay threw out the idea of us spending an episode talking about the adventures of teaching small children. I immediately said "absolutely". And we did. Hey, if you have a great story, get in touch and share it so we can build another episode. Master Kelljchian used to say that the children taught him more than he taught them. We did an entire episode on that. Here it is: https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/17659642 We ...
