The First time I'm Paying For Marketing
Hi everyone,
Thanks for listening. Sorry about the sound quality. I was walking outside and recording on my iPhone, and it picked up wind noises and my breathing too much.
I’m giving paid marketing a try for the first time. I have paid $35 for a service to market my novel When Royal Heads Are Hunted (https://books2read.com/u/bpoggz), my historical fiiction novel about the Aztecs, the Conquistadors, and the powerful Calusa Indians from Florida.
The person I’m working with showed me how she reaches about 25,000 people through her accounts and gave me evidence of her work leading to impressive sales.
If this is successful, I will provide her name and contact information here. If it is not successful, I will talk about it, but I won’t mention her name. I am not doing this to be negative and hurt people’s reputations.
I would really appreciate it if you share and/or restack this post. This willl hep me to get the word out my book.
Thanks again for listening.
Will Granger

Two New (old) Books
Hi everyone,
Before I get started, please forgive the poor sound quality on this episode. I was recording outside on my iPhone and didn’t realize it was picking up so much wind and other sounds.
This is an update on my novels Ordinary Hero (https://books2read.com/u/mdkjXy) and Reluctant Hero (https://books2read.com/u/mZ10Xl). It is a middle grade action and adventure tale with a coming of age theme. They are on sale everywhere as paperbacks and ebooks.
Please check them out and let me know if you have any questions. I have a plan for the third book, and may begin writing that soon.
Thanks for listening!

Native Weapons Had Little Chance
Hi everyone,
Thanks for listening. My book When Royal Heads Are Hunted is now available everywhere you can buy books. I am now running a promotion: if you subscribe to my newsletter (always free) and send me a direct message through Substack, I will send you a coupon code for a free ebook copy through Smashwords.
In this episode, I am talking about how the Conquistadors initially wore heavy armor when they faced native groups. I made this part of my book When Royal Heads Are Hunted. I also also added details that made it possible for Calusa warriors to combat the Spaniards.
The book is now available at Amazon (https://a.co/d/b9vKw27) and through Draft2Digital (https://books2read.com/u/bpoggz), which links to book vendors through Bookshop.org (https://bookshop.org/p/books/when-royal-heads-are-hunted/6814eea26d637261?ean=9798232942618&next=t) and other sources worldwide including Apple and Barnes and Noble (https://books2read.com/u/bpoggz).
I would appreciate it very much if you would share and restack this post. Also, please contact me if you have any questions about my book. I have lined up a speaking and book-signing gig with a local archaeological society, and I would love to talk to other groups, including schools.
Have a great week,
Will Granger

Adultery and Politics Was Always a Family Affair
Hi, and thanks for listening.
I am getting closer to my October 1 publication date for When Royal Heads Are Hunted. I am really happy to announce that the book is now now available for preorder at this link: WRHAH Preorder (https://books2read.com/u/bpoggz).
As I get closer to releasing the book, I’m doing as much as possible to let people know about it. Just today I sent my media kit and flyer to a list of Florida podcasts, and hopefully some of them will be willing to interview me.
Along with that, I would really appreciate it if you could share and restack this post. I believe that would be the best way to get some publicity for the the book.
Thanks

Without Fontaneda, we wouldn't know the Calusas
Historians, and authors, would know very little about the Calusas without the memoir of Hernando de Escalante Fontaneda.
When Royal Heads Are Hunted (https://draft2digital.com/book/), my historical fiction novel about the Aztecs, Conquistadors, and Calusas comes out on Oct. 1. Please share and /or restack this episode as I try to build interest in my book.
Thanks for listening.

How Florida Got its name
I am trying something new here. I will record small accounts about the Calusa Indians, the Aztecs, and the Spanish Conquistadors. These will all be from my research for my upcoming historical fiction novel Shame of Kings.
I will do my best to make these interesting and no longer than a minute.
