Wine Talk is a series that aims to highlight individuals who have made great strides in various areas and are impacting their community/the world, as well as bringing awareness to various social, political, and socio-economic issues. This series was first started as a passion project by Ms. Sanshegay Peart as an opportunity to provide a platform for her and others like her to be able to speak unimpeded as well as to connect, share, and learn from like-minded individuals.
Who is a friend, really?
We use the word “friend” so loosely that sometimes we forget to ask what friendship actually means.
In Episode 1 of The Anatomy of Friendship, we’re peeling back the layers of friendship and asking the questions we often avoid.
Who qualifies as a friend?
Why do we choose certain people?
What separates a friend from an acquaintance?
And what happens when we ignore the red flags?
We’ll explore friendship types, intimacy, commitment, connection, social media, and the ways our experiences shape who we allow into our lives.
This episode is also a reminder that proximity does not automatically equal friendship.
So, before you call someone your friend, ask yourself: Do they really have access to me, or have I simply given them the title?
