This Is My Kind of Weird | Finding Your Neurodivergent People

Finding your people as a neurodivergent adult can feel like discovering a place where you finally get to be yourself. No rehearsed conversations, no constant explanations, and no pressure to hide the interests and personality traits that make you who you are. In this episode of Wisdom From the Porch with GP, we're exploring neurodivergent friendships, authentic connection, belonging, and the joy of being understood. GP reflects on what it means to find people who appreciate your enthusiasm, humor, curiosity, and different ways of experiencing the world. We'll also talk about the difference between being accepted and being understood, why genuine connection doesn't require everyone to think alike, and how to build relationships without abandoning your own needs. Because sometimes finding your people isn't about becoming more like everybody else. It's about finding relationships where there's room for the person you already are. The Spark Is Back | ADHD Motivation & Rediscovering Joy

ADHD motivation can be unpredictable, especially when the interests and activities that once excited us suddenly feel distant. But sometimes, when we're not even looking for it, that familiar spark of curiosity returns. In this episode of Wisdom From the Porch with GP, we're talking about rediscovering joy, creativity, and enthusiasm after a season of feeling uninspired. What happens when something that used to light you up begins to feel ordinary? How do we make room for excitement again without turning happiness into another obligation? GP explores the small moments that can reconnect us with things we love, why motivation doesn't always arrive on schedule, and how a familiar song, an unexpected laugh, or a simple discovery can remind us that there's still so much to enjoy. Plus, in Heard You, listener @AZ8983 shares a wonderfully candid reflection about sarcasm, dark humor, and finding reasons to laugh even when the people around you don't quite understand your sense of humor. Boredom Made Me Dangerous | ADHD Boredom & Creativity

ADHD boredom can lead to some surprisingly creative adventures. One minute, there's nothing interesting to do. The next, you've discovered a new hobby, started an unexpected project, or found yourself learning something you never knew you cared about. In this episode of Wisdom From the Porch with GP, we're exploring the funny, curious, and sometimes wonderfully unpredictable things that happen when boredom meets imagination. Why do some neurodivergent adults crave novelty? Can boredom become an invitation to explore something new? And how can we enjoy spontaneous creativity without turning every interesting idea into another unfinished obligation? GP reflects on curiosity, experimentation, the pleasure of doing something just because it sounds interesting, and the difference between giving your brain something enjoyable to explore and constantly demanding that it stay entertained. Because sometimes the words "I'm bored" are followed by something nobody saw coming.
