The film follows Terry Kennedy, a Navy veteran, and former Hell's Angels associate who, decades ago, formed an unlikely bond with a giant oceanic manta ray he named Willy while diving off San Benedicto Island in Mexico. Now in his eighties, Terry gathers his old friends for one more trip, hoping to swim with Willy one last time.
