Alexandra Augustin (Ö1) über "The Crux" von Killed By 9V Batteries (2011, Siluh Records)

Ohne Vinyl-Version, aber mit projiziertem Albumcover begrüßt Alexandra Augustin das Wödscheim-Team in Wien-Hernals. Mit „The Crux“ hat die Radio-Moderatorin (Ö1, ehemals FM4), DJ und Journalistin das dritte Album von Killed By 9V Batteries gewählt: Eine noisige Angelegenheit, wie es sich für die aus der Steiermark stammende Band gehört. Also durchaus eine Herausforderung für ungeeichte Ohren. Doch poppige Seiten und potenzielle Belohnungen für ein wenig Geduld sind ebenso inkludiert.„The Crux“ ist 2011 über Siluh Records erschienen und das letzte Album der 9V Batts. Die Auflösung folgte 2014. Die vier Bandmitglieder Wolfgang Möstl (Gesang, Gitarre, Orgel), Mario Zangl (Bass), Mario Loder (Drums) und Philipp Ludersdorfer (Gitarre) widmen sich seither anderen Projekten. Am bekanntesten ist Wolfgang Möstl, der mittlerweile Wolfgang Lehmann heißt. Nach einigen Releases mit der Band Mile Me Deaf tritt er seit 2025 als Mitglied der Rockband Naked Lunch in Erscheinung. Außerdem ist er als Songwriter/Produzent aktiv – zuletzt hat er etwa für Voodoo Jürgens das Album „Gschnas“ produziert.

JerMc über "It's All Good Tho" von Wandl (Affine Records, 2017)

Seine Euphorie kann JerMc nicht verbergen. Rund ein Jahr vor der Gründung seines Labels Heiße Luft hat der Wiener Rapper in der Rolle als Message-Redakteur einen kurzen Artikel zum Release von Wandls „It’s All Good Tho“ verfasst. Aus jeder Zeile spricht seine Begeisterung für das 2017 über Affine Records erschienene Album. Es hat nicht nur JerMcs Sad-Boy-Nerven getroffen. Im Kontrast zum Vorgängerprojekt, „Geld Leben“ mit Rapper Crack Ignaz, tritt Wandl auf „It’s All Good Tho“ mehr als Songwriter und mit seiner Stimme in den Vordergrund. Seine Soundtüfteleien und Track-Konzepte erhalten mehr Raum. Am Ende steht nur eine weitere Talentprobe, sondern eine Wödscheim. Wir besprechen sie gemeinsam mit JerMc, der sich detailliert an seinen Fanboy-Modus erinnert.
