Jessica Beech - Breast Implant Illness . . . More common than you think

This week's episode features Jessica Beech who is one strong and determined woman who hasn't stopped fighting for her health and healing!  Jessica is an experienced nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and healthcare industry in the paediatric population for over seven years. She has a passion for helping others succeed not only with their health, but in all areas of life. Jessica has also been working as a Holistic Life and Health Coach for over five years. She has empowered many individuals to improve not only their health and wellness, but also their relationships, finances, personal growth and overall mindset. In our chat with Jessica… We dive right into her extensive health journey due to Breast Implant Illness. Did you know that this is even a thing? "WHY did you decide to get implants?" Was our first question to Jessica. Her reasoning, which is similar maybe to most women who get them, she was bullied in school about them and she never did like her own breasts. The fitness industry is what gave Jessica an even bigger push to get them. Once she started competing she noticed that most of the contestants all had breast implants. "Once I get these, I'll be happy", was Jessica's mentality.  Jessica felt good about herself after surgery and was excited to enjoy her new breasts! Unfortunately, two months post surgery, Jessica's thyroid crashed and didn't work well for three months which sent her down an even worse spiral. More things kept coming up and her doctors could not figure out what was wrong. Her close friend brought light to the situation. He told her that she's been sick since she received the implants. Finally, Jessica decided to look more into it. In the back of her mind she knew. She told her friend he was right. Jessica continues to elaborate on her symptoms which wouldn't let her physically work or have a social life. She was in chronic pain every day! It was interesting to Jessica how in the medical industry, where she works as a nurse, they never talk about breast implant illness. After connecting with several physicians and getting no answers, let alone anyone believing her, Jessica took matters into her own hands. She began more holistic approaches like frequency healing, naturopathic medicine and a psychic medium. All of these specialists linked Jessica's health back to her breast implants which were slowly poisoning her. This does not happen to everyone, but it's important to bring light to the situation and to know that this could possibly happen. Jessica encourages all women to do their research and learn more about breast implants as well as breast implant illness.  Jessica continues to talk about her journey of getting them removed. This was also very difficult. Finding a surgeon to do this procedure was difficult. Removing breast implants has to be done correctly. There's certain specialist in the world that only remove implants. Those are the doctors you want to see. Everything was lined up and Jessica was on her way to Costa Rica but unfortunately the pandemic hit and international travel was not happening. Feeling so defeated, she kept contacting doctors and clinics in hopes of finding someone to remove her implants correctly! She did not back down! Katerina & Silvie - There's No Place Like Home, Especially When It Comes To DESIGNS BY KS

This weeks episode features two dynamic women, Katerina Vastardis & Silvie Pantsios, who together are Designs by KS! This award-winning interior design team is unlike any other. We talk about residential interior design, the common areas of a home and how their business partnership came to fruition.  What is the difference between an interior decorator and an interior designer? One decorates, one changes the entire space! And these ladies know just how to do this. Katerina went to school for fashion merchandising and quickly jumped ship realizing that was not going to work. Interior design became her passion. Katerina knew Silvie through the greek community and knew she would be the right fit for the company she was working for. Silvie took the job, was trained and learned everything she would have in school. She calls it her paid internship. 'Go for it, it all makes sense. One phone call changed everything' They spent 4 years working for another company and at some point things went sideways. That's when the ladies decided it was time to go and 'steer their own ship'. No one said it was going to be easy but they took what they loved and made it better while improving themselves. One thing they do different than other companies is that they also sell products, specifically cabinets. They create win-win situations for their clients! Phase 1 - Design, Katerina Phase 2 - Project managing phase, Silvie Building SOLID relationships with contractors, builders, renovators is the biggest avenue in growing their business and of course, word of mouth.  We touch base on the benefits of renovations and what makes more sense, doing it all or breaking it down into smaller projects over the course of many years. They will help you make it make sense and help identify where your money is best spent! Put your money into the appliances you use the most. Your home is where you live and should make you feel good, 'it should be your oasis'. Working with a business coach over this last year, has positively impacted their professional and personal lives. Find out the importance of why K&S hired a coach and how ultimately they wanted another expert for more guidance in an already successful business. If high performing athletes have a coach, why wouldn't a business have a coach. It's about growth professionally and personally. Silvie says 'its like a proof reader to a writer. A fresh set of eyes with expertise to help tweak and create more value'. Tawny Stowe - Woodland Priestess - Back to Nature, Values and You!

In this weeks episode of WomanUp, we had the opportunity to interview a devoted woman Tawny Stowe. Tawny Stowe is a Metis business owner who works on the traditional unseeded Algonquin territory. Tawny is a steward of land and resources which allows her to embody her role as the Woodland Priestess helping parents return home to themselves and their children through a (re)connection to the Earth. She teaches a remembering of the Mind-Body-Soul through the sharing of children’s stories, song, food, creative activities, gardening, spirituality + yoga practices and nature exploration. Tawny is a Master Reiki Practitioner, has two Permaculture Design certificates, studies animal tracking & herbal medicine, is an oracle reader and has over 400 hrs of Yoga Teacher Training which includes 100 hrs of Children's Yoga. In our chat with Tawny… We focus on her role as a woodland priestess and the values of the Algonquin people - The 7 Grandfather Teachings. Tawny begins by bringing our attention to faith and how it will get you through your life journey. Her purpose is devotion, which she defines as detachment, surrender and unconditional love. Its devotion that keeps her going! “Are you showing up? The beauty of the practice is turning up.” How Tawny got her name as a Woodland Priestess was through spirit which shows up in her dreams. Once Tawny accepted her new names and responsibilities, she came to peace with the earth and connected to the teaching of life and how its a cycle of birth - death - decay - rebirth. We are in need of connection and because Tawny believes in this, she is building a bridge between the old way of being (old world) into the new way (new world). The mind has been conditioned to be on, all the time, so how about we shift to more connection with the soul? The key to this is slowing down, breathing and nature. We talk about values and how adults today are responsible to unlearn what they’ve been taught to be the ‘only way’. This will be a major role in the up bringing of future generations. Tawny believes that earth based spirituality is for everyone. Her guidance to community is based on the values of the Algonquin tribe, ‘The 7 Grandfather Teachings’: Truth, Wisdom, Love, Bravery, Honesty & Humility. Without values there is no use for goals.
