The truth about scaling a business with Milly Albers
In this episode, I sit down with Milly Albers, Founder of MILCO, an Adelaide-based brand identity studio that helps organisations in healthcare, the care sector and property build brands that are both strategic and deeply authentic. With a background in marketing and brand strategy, Milly shares why she believes the strongest businesses are built with design first and marketing second, and how a clear brand foundation makes every marketing decision easier. But this conversation goes far beyond branding. We explore the reality of growing a business, challenging the idea that bigger is always better. Milly shares her own journey of building, scaling, and intentionally reshaping her business, reminding us that success isn't measured by headcount, revenue or constant expansion. Sometimes the most successful business is the one that gives you the life you actually want. We also discuss: Why scaling isn't the only definition of success. The freedom to evolve your business as your priorities change. What organic business growth really looks like. Building a business that aligns with your values, not someone else's expectations. Why strong branding starts long before your marketing begins. If you've ever felt pressure to grow simply because that's what entrepreneurs are "supposed" to do, this episode is a refreshing reminder that there is no one-size-fits-all path to success. Your business gets to evolve alongside you, and sometimes the bravest decision is choosing the version that brings you the most fulfilment.

The gap between marketing and business reality with Hannah Priebe-Clarke
Hannah has more than a decade of experience in marketing, branding and business development, helping both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) organisations achieve sustainable growth. Throughout her career, she has built and scaled brands across retail, service and technology sectors, with extensive experience developing strategic partnerships, driving revenue growth and creating impactful marketing initiatives. One of her most notable achievements was leading the major rebrand of Big Screen Video (BSV), helping transform the company from a locally perceived Adelaide business into a recognised global leader within the B2B market. As Director of Business Development at BSV, Hannah developed and secured multi-million-dollar proposals that generated significant commercial outcomes while fostering long-term strategic relationships. She has successfully identified, negotiated and managed partnerships with leading organisations including the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Weber Australia, Mitsubishi Motors, RAA, Shopper Media, Adelaide Airport, oOh!media and JCDecaux. Her experience spans a broad range of industries, including global technology, out-of-home media, major events, retail, professional services, stadia and hospitality. Hannah holds a Bachelor of Public Relations and Marketing from the University of South Australia.

Why many women intentionally choose micro-business models and why that is not a failure with Karen Dennett
Karen Dennett is an educator and business mentor who helps women build successful micro-businesses that fit within real lives, not outside of them. With 18 years of experience in education and learning design, she supports women to move forward with clarity, momentum and community, without relying on hustle culture, hype or burnout. Her work focuses on helping women - often mothers or caregivers running service-based or solo businesses - create sustainable, meaningful businesses that align with their capacity, values and way of life. Karen is a strong advocate for redefining success, challenging traditional business models, and reminding women that what feels like failure is often simply a mismatch between life and the way business has been taught.
