Lessons From Being a Girl Guide | Aime Hutton | Women Talk Podcast
At 14 years old, Aime Hutton was being bullied at school and beginning to believe the cruel names people called her. But at Pathfinders, she discovered something completely different: a safe place where she could lead, learn by doing and recognize just how capable she really was.
In this episode, Aime shares the unforgettable story of the Girl Guide camp that went spectacularly sideways—complete with a second-degree burn, a sliced finger, an emergency-room visit and someone throwing up on the division camp commissioner. Somehow, she still earned her Gold Camp badge!
Aime and Brigitte also talk about bullying, the importance of finding a place where you belong, coming out to her family, allowing herself to love again and why self-acceptance has become her superpower.
Today, Aime is a passionate advocate, facilitator and community builder who works to create greater inclusion for people with disabilities and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
This conversation is funny, honest and a beautiful reminder that struggling in one environment doesn’t mean you aren’t capable—you may simply need a place where you can truly be yourself.

60? WTF Happened? | Kelly Woodhouse | Women Talk Podcast
Turning 60 wasn’t supposed to come with a 3 a.m. retirement-math session. But here we are.
TEDx speaker, author, and burn survivor Kelly Woodhouse joins host and comedian Brigitte Lessard for a conversation about getting older, the questions that keep us awake, and answering life’s uncertainty with laughter.
After turning 60, Kelly’s brain served up some big questions: Is my life over? Will I have enough money to retire? And seriously—WTF happened?
Her story explores what happens when we stop waiting to be young enough, pretty enough, or healed enough to have a good life. Having survived burns at two years old—and, as she points out, ’80s hair—Kelly believes laughter is a survival skill.
Kelly also runs the Author Diner community, helping authors turn their books into real businesses.
Real women. Real stories. And plenty of laugh lines.
