They have lessons to teach us about many of the issues that we face today. &nbsp;Standing up to authority, dealing with unjust or immoral laws and perseverance in the face of rejection and deprivation are just a few of the situations that Jochebed, Leah and Hannah faced. There are also Shiprah and Puah. These midwives were initially childless themselves, yet they had compassion and the fear of the Lord which caused them to help women keep their male newborns from immediate death by murder. &nbsp;They were later blessed with children of their own because of their courageous acts.&nbsp;</p>
