Jun 24 – Rev 3:14-22
Today is Jesus’ letter to the 7th church, Laodicea. This letter was a severe and urgent message. The Laodiceans were smug, self-sufficient and “lukewarm,” having locked Christ out of their lives while falsely believing they needed nothing. Jesus asked them to trade their material complacency for true, spiritual wealth, offering them fellowship and a place to reign with Him. Then came the warning in verse 22 because it functioned as a wake-up call and implored the listeners to heed the warning, abandon their self-reliance and respond to Christ’s invitation to repent.
