And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:5-6).</p> <p>In our opening scripture, God was giving Abraham a very important training on how to see with the eyes of faith. The Lord had said to him, “…I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2).</p> <p>But Abraham didn’t quite “see” how that was going to happen; so, he argued with the Lord and said, “Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?” (Genesis 15:2).</p> <p>The Lord however brought him out at night and told him to count the stars in the sky. Of course, they were too many. While still trying to count, God said to him, “So shall thy seed be.” He believed, and that was the moment he got it. God trained him to use his spiritual sense of sight. It was something spiritual. It means looking beyond your thinking, your mind and your environment; seeing with the eyes of faith.</p> <p>On another occasion, after Lot separated from him, God said to him, “Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever” (Genesis 13:14-15).</p> <p>By this time, Abraham had understood how to use his spiritual sense of sight. Upon God’s instruction, he looked and saw the whole world, and God gave it to him. Just like Abraham, you have to practice seeing with your spirit. You have to have times when you just sit down and use your spiritual sight.</p> <p>What you see in those moments is what you get. The Bible says, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh … and your young men shall see visions…” (Acts 2:17). Notice he says the young men shall see visions; what visions are you seeing even now? What pictures are being captured by your eyes of faith?</p> <p>If it’s the wrong picture, shake it off. If you see pictures of fear, death, sickness, or failure, reject them! And then change your mind; change your thoughts; change the words that are coming to you. Realign yourself; refocus and look again; the right pictures will come.</p> <p>Prayer</p> <p>Dear Father, thank you for your Spirit who leads me in the way I should go and guides me through your Word to see the right pictures and bring them into reality. I see your glory and goodness all around me, and I walk in the fullness of your grace and blessings today, in Jesus’ Name. If a man’s words are harsh, bitter and biting, then that’s who he is inside. But if your words are gracious and loving, that’s the character of your personality. Your words reveal you.</p> <p>James 3:2 says, “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.” Jesus said in Matthew 12:35, “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.” </p> <p>There’s love, beauty, goodness and excellence in your spirit. So when you speak, it should be out of that abundance. The presence of the Holy Spirit in your life means you’re enabled to let out rivers of blessings from within you, coming forth in words. Your speech is the true measure of your maturity as a Christian.</p> <p>Read James 3:2 again, this time, from the AMPC: “…And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man….” Bring life, health, healing, hope, strength and courage to others through your wholesome words.</p> <p>Prayer</p> <p>Dear Father, thank you for your Word and the Holy Spirit that renews my mind to speak blessings and faith-filled words. I speak life and wisdom today; I live in divine health, supernatural abundance, and I walk in righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Ecclesiastes 11:3 says, “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth….” There’re clouds that are calamitous, catastrophic, ruinous and tragic, but our clouds carry spiritual waters of blessings, prosperity and victories.</p> <p>In John 7:38, Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow, rivers of living water.” The 39th verse says, “(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified).”</p> <p>The Holy Spirit in you is a fountain of life. That’s why there’s a gusher, an outflow of life and blessings as you speak. Always speak blessings; words that cancel Satan’s plans. Even now, make a decree concerning your nation, your city, your life or about anything, and it shall be established unto you (Job 22:28, Ecclesiastes 8:4).</p> <p>Remember, it’s by the blessing of the upright that the city is exalted (Proverbs 11:11). Speaking blessings over anyone, anything, any city or nation can be done by giving thanks. Therefore, give thanks as the Word enjoins us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority….”</p> <p>PRAYER</p> <p>Dear Father, I thank you for the light of the glorious Gospel that continues to shine in all the nations of the world, with signs and wonders taking place as the Gospel is preached. Indeed, the knowledge of your glory is covering the earth as the waters cover the sea, in Jesus’ Name.
