Welcome to Worse Than You Remember! We are Austin and Bess, and this is a podcast where we take a look back at all of your favorite childhood movies and tell you why they're Worse - or sometimes Better - Than You Remember. For Season 1 we'll be doing every DCOM ever. That's right. Every. Disney Channel Original Movie. Ever. To keep things interesting, we randomly pick our next movie at the end of each episode (other than a few scheduled movies for certain holidays), so that you can watch along with us! Tune in every Monday for new episodes as we dive into our pasts and cringe at what we find.
Two weeks in a row! Some might say we’re on a roll… This week we take a look at a movie neither of us have seen before, Horse Sense, and neither one of us is ready for it. Which Lawrence brother is which? Couldn’t tell you. But if one of them has the hookup on a video alarm clock he’s my favorite.

Episode 14: Johnny Tsunami
Who could’ve seen this coming? A DCOM with a male lead who we don’t despise? A heartwarming plot filled to the brim with non-toxic male figures? ZENON?! This is a fun episode as we continue to dive back in to the podcast in part 1 of our Johnny Tsunami/Johnny Kapahala journey. Part 2 will almost assuredly be worse than this because there’s very little way it could be better. Twitter: @WorsePodcast IG: @worsethanyouremember

Episode 13: The Thirteenth Year
We're back from our almost 3 month long quarantine hiatus to talk about The Thirteenth Year! This movie was originally supposed to be the very first episode of WTYR, but was quickly scrapped because it was the definition of a "first pancake". However, this time, we were a little TOO on the same page with how we felt about this movie being a trans narrative, how baby mermaids are brought into the world, and who we think the horniest Disney characters of all time are. Follow us! ...

Episode 12: Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius
Pukin Pluto! This definitely isn't a Disney Channel Original Movie - but we have our reasons. Recently we've found ourselves gravitating back to some classic childhood favorites to deal with the stress and uncertainty of quarantine. So, for the foreseeable future, we're going to be shaking things up a bit in terms of schedule. Prepare for some deep cuts, some old but amazing finds, the ultimate comfort food movies for the next couple of weeks, starting with Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius. F...

Episode 10: Get A Clue
In a masterpiece of editing, Bess has cut down the two hour, passionate discussion we had about Get A Clue into a manageable and agreeable hour and twelve minutes. You’re welcome. This one is maybe our best yet, with some heated debates, segments galore, and a healthy dose of Brenda Song, which we’ve come to love like a warm security blanket in these trying times. We took it there with this one. Facing childhood fears (that were possibly CREATED by this movie??), hip-hop history, and some serious cases of You Didn't Know That Was Fucked Up. Episode 6: Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie
In one of our favorite episodes yet, we dive headfirst into the world of Disney Magic to see if we can figure out what the hell the rules are (spoiler alert: we can't). We write some spells, argue over elements, and try to figure out what the f*ck guava is as we decide if Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie is Worse (or Better) Than You Remember. Episode 5: Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension
This may be a rough one for those of us without the brains of young children... But still we continue on! Our segment game is strong here, at least. Episode 4: Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure
This week we dive in what feels like an unofficial but is somehow an official sequel to the iconic High School Musical Series, Sharpay's Fabulous adventure (2011). Find out who was replaced with a dog, which musical number was the least offensive, and as always, if it's Worse or Better than we Remember. We're so close to figuring out how the hell to do sound, like SO close. This week we come up with our first segments! Exciting stuff, it's moving on up from here.

Episode 3: A Ring of Endless Light
Episode 3 is a doozy. Come for the discussion of dolphin obstetrics, stay for Jared Padelecki's dead mom, and keep coming back until we figure out who Mischa Barton is.

In Episode 2 it's allllll about Cadet Kelly. We get into gay subtext, erotic spitting, and the importance of non-toxic father figures in a young girl's life. What else would you expect?
