Hey, I’m Aashna, and I started Student-ish because being a student is hard—but being a student of life is even harder 😅.
This podcast is a space for honest conversations, messy growth, and figuring things out in real time. From burnout to ambition, identity to friendships, school, career, we cover the lessons no one puts in a textbook, but everyone ends up needing.
Some episodes are just me; some feature people who inspire me. All of it? From the heart.
If you’re figuring it out, feeling the pressure, or just want a place to breathe, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Student-ish. 💕
I got into an IVY League (and YOU CAN TOO!): Insider tips ft. Anushka Lakhani pt.2
Welcome back to pt. 2! If you're struggling with university apps or figuring out the process or maybe you have no clue what you want to do and how you want to get there, this is the episode for you!
In this episode we'll ask Anushka Lakhani (an incredibly intelligent UPenn grad):
1. What surprised you most about the application process for UPenn specifically?
2. What are some unique aspects of the UPenn campus culture or academic programs that students might not know about?
3. UPenn has a variety of schools within it (Wharton, Engineering etc.). Did you have a specific program in mind when you applied? How did you demonstrate your genuine interest in the specific Ivy League school you applied to e.g Wharton in UPenn?
4. Rejection from a top school can be tough. How did you manage the application process emotionally, and what advice would you give students facing rejection?
5. How did your experience at UPenn prepare you for your current path (college, career etc.)? What advice do you have for current high school students about future goals?
6. What APs did you take, if any and do you mind sharing the score?
7. How did you pick what courses you wanted to take?
8. What curriculum?
9. Is it safe?
10. How did you finalize where you wanted to study – what uni, location etc.
