The Version of Me That Needed Everyone to Like Her

The Version of Me That Needed Everyone to Like Her I like being liked. There, I said it. For a long time, I think I confused being a kind person with making sure everyone had a good opinion of me. I wanted to be easy to work with, easy to make plans with, helpful, accommodating and someone people could always count on. But what happens when being liked starts influencing the decisions you make about your own life? In this episode of The Anna Edit, I'm talking about people-pleasing, overthinking how other people perceive us, the difference between being kind and needing to be seen as kind, and why I'm learning that not everyone is going to like me... and that's actually okay. I'm also digging into how this shows up in business, friendships and social media, where likes, views and followers can make other people's approval feel measurable. I'm not trying to become someone who doesn't care what anybody thinks. I care about people, and I actually like that about myself. I'm just learning not to care so much that I stop listening to myself. I'm Learning to Disappoint People

I'm Learning to Disappoint People This title made me uncomfortable... which is probably why I knew I needed to record this episode. For most of my life, I've wanted to be the person people could count on. The one who says yes, replies quickly, makes time, and figures it all out. Somewhere along the way, I started confusing being kind with always being available. In this episode, I'm talking about the pressure to be everything for everyone, the tiny "yeses" that slowly drain our energy, why saying no can feel so uncomfortable, and how I'm learning that someone else's disappointment doesn't automatically mean I've done something wrong. This isn't about becoming selfish. It's about realizing that protecting your time, your energy, and your peace doesn't make you a bad person. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is stop abandoning yourself to keep everyone else comfortable. If you've ever struggled with people-pleasing, over-explaining your boundaries, or feeling guilty for choosing yourself, I hope this conversation reminds you that you're not alone. I'm Done Chasing Busy

I'm Done Chasing Busy For a long time, I wore "busy" like a badge of honour. If my calendar was full, I felt successful. If I had a quiet day, I almost felt guilty admitting it. Somewhere along the way, I started believing that being constantly busy meant I was doing something right. But what if we've been chasing the wrong thing? In this episode, I'm talking about hustle culture, the pressure to always be productive, why I used to feel uncomfortable saying I had free time, and how I'm learning to protect space instead of filling every empty moment. This isn't about working less. It's about redefining what success actually looks like and building a life that feels good to live, not just one that looks impressive from the outside. If you've ever felt guilty for resting, struggled to say no, or wondered why slowing down feels so uncomfortable, I think this conversation is for you. Let's stop chasing busy, together.
