軽井沢をこよなく愛した、伝説のアーティストがいます。<br /> ジョン・レノン。<br /> ジョンは、亡くなる3年前から、毎年、軽井沢を訪れました。<br /> オノ・ヨーコの別荘近くにある、万平ホテルが定宿。<br /> ヨーコと、まだ2歳の息子・ショーン、3人の仲睦まじい姿は、旧軽銀座、鬼押し出し、白糸の滝など、各地で目撃され、写真にも残っています。<br /> 早くから避暑地として、多くの重鎮、外国人を迎え入れてきたこの地は、いい意味で、ジョンを放っておいてくれました。<br /> 過度に騒がず、干渉せず。<br /> ビートルズ時代から、マスコミにさらされ、想像を絶する心ない言葉を浴びせられてきた彼にとって、軽井沢は、唯一、ホッとできる場所だったのかもしれません。<br /> さらに、信州の涼やかで少し湿った風は、ふるさとリバプール、ストロベリー・フィールズを想起させたのでしょう。<br /> 写真に写るジョンは、どれも、リラックスしていて、素の表情を隠していません。<br /> <br /> ジョン・レノンという唯一無二の芸術家の人生は、ある意味、自分にyesと言うための闘いの歴史でもありました。<br /> 多大な賞賛、歓声や評価を受けても、彼自身、自分を肯定することは困難な道のりでした。<br /> 1973年にリリースされた名曲『マインド・ゲームス』に、こんな歌詞があります。<br /> 「Love is the answer」そして「Yes is the answer」。<br /> 愛こそが人生の答えであり、自分にyesということこそが、全ての答え。<br /> さらに歌詞には、こんな一節もあります。<br /> 「yesというのは、あるがままの自分に全てをゆだねること」<br /> 自ら産み出す音楽で世界を変えたレジェンド、ジョン・レノンが人生でつかんだ、明日へのyes！とは？
