What “Dysregulation” Actually Means and Why It’s Not a Personal Flaw

The word dysregulation is everywhere right now… on social media, in therapy spaces, in social conversations but it’s often misunderstood. Too often, it gets used in a way that feels like blaming or shaming, especially for neurodivergent people, trauma survivors, and caregivers who are already doing their best.

In this episode, I talk about why this matters to you and how misunderstanding dysregulation can lead us to correct, control, or criticize ourselves or others, instead of offering support.

I also share how this information helps by breaking down the nervous system in a clear, accessible way. My hope is that listeners can begin to:

Recognize different nervous system states without fear

Understand what their body is communicating

Respond with care and compassion instead of correction

So, if you’ve ever felt like your reactions meant something was “wrong” with you, or if you support children, clients, or loved ones who struggle with regulation, I think this episode will resonate.

Schedule your free consultation call with me by clicking here.

Instagram: Iesha | Neurodivergent Family Support (@zenaromas.wellness) • Instagram photos and videos

Website: Zen Aromas & Wellness | Holistic Wellness Practitioner
