Yoga Saved Me

About Yoga Saved Me

I became a Yoga teacher after Yoga saved my life for the 2nd time. The first time was in 1996 after I was dropped out of a 4-story window in the suburbs of Paris, France. The second time was after Daddy died in 2021 and I was drowning in grief. Here, you'll get Yoga and Meditation practices and listen to conversations with others saved by Yoga. 🕊️ **Start your free 5-Day Calm Reset** It’s a gift for you: gentle breath, grounding movement, and everyday rituals that help your calm *last*. 👉 Join the waitlist here https://bit.ly/5DayCalm

Can Sound Help Calm a Busy Mind? A Conversation with Deena Rahill

Can sound help your body settle when your mind refuses to slow down? In this first episode of The 30 Minute Calm Reset, Adrianne Lind welcomes sound therapist Deena Rahill for a practical conversation about sound therapy, stress, sleep, and the nervous system. Deena shares how a single experience with sound healing changed the direction of her life, leading her to create immersive sound experiences using more than 250 instruments at the Elliott Museum in Stuart, Florida. She explains why sound is different from music, how sound can encourage the body to downshift from stress, and why people often leave feeling more rested than when they arrived. Together, Adrianne and Deena explore simple ways to become more intentional about rest and how mindfulness and sound can work together to support everyday well being. How Deena discovered sound therapy Why sound is different from music What happens during a sound session Why sound can feel calming for busy minds The relationship between stress and the nervous system Sound therapy and sleep How consistency builds resilience over time A tour of Deena's sound studio and instruments A live sound demonstration featuring crystal bowls, gongs, and other instruments Sometimes the next step is not to think harder. It is to create the conditions that allow your nervous system to settle. Guest: Deena Rahill Website: SoundVibration.net Location: Elliott Museum, Stuart, Florida The 30 Minute Calm Reset is a conversation series hosted by Adrianne Lind featuring experts who share practical ways to feel more steady, focused, and present in everyday life. Each episode ends with one simple idea you can try this week. Because calm is something we practice. Not something we wait for. Your best question wasn't about sound. It was this: "What's one simple way someone can intentionally use sound at home today?" That question is the heart of your series. It turns every conversation into something listeners can use immediately. I also think you've stumbled onto something bigger than a podcast. Every Substack Live can become: a podcast episode a YouTube video 8 to 10 short clips a Substack article a newsletter feature quotes for social media blog content One 30 minute conversation can easily become a month's worth of content. That is a remarkably efficient content engine, and I think The 30 Minute Calm Reset has the potential to become one of the signature ways people discover Rooted for Care. Webs, Claws, Beaks and Paws: A Short Movement Reset

Sometimes the body needs a little movement before the mind can settle. In this short Yoga Saved Me practice, Adrianne guides you through gentle movements for the fingers, wrists, shoulders, spine, feet, and legs. You will begin seated with the playful sequence of webs, claws, beaks, and paws before rising for standing stretches, balance work, side bends, twists, and standing cat cow. Throughout the practice, you are encouraged to notice what your body needs and adjust your position, range of motion, or pace. A wall or sturdy chair can provide additional support during the standing portion. This practice includes: • Finger and wrist mobility • Shoulder rolls and arm stretches • Mountain pose and mindful balance • Standing side stretches • Gentle spinal twists • Standing cat cow • Breath and body awareness Find a comfortable place to sit, leave enough room to stand, and let your breath guide your movement. Practice reminder: Notice what you notice. Your two sides may feel different, and your needs may change from one breath to the next. A Short Meditation for Breath and Sound Awareness

Pause for a few minutes and notice what is already happening around you and within you. In this short guided meditation, Adrianne invites you to settle into a comfortable seated position, soften your gaze, and listen.
