Brother Chidananda shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda and his guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar, on how these simple but powerful rules form the true basis for successful practice of meditation. These same universal laws in the yamas and niyamas, Paramahansa Yogananda explained, are found in the scriptures of all great religions of the world; and when we decide to make use of them daily they become a powerful force on our journey to soul freedom. As Brother Chidananda says, these spiritual rules are not our masters but our servants, and he or she is their master who obeys them — creating thereby a solid and enduring foundation on which to build our spiritual lives, and ultimately attain liberation. This talk was given at the 2011 SRF World Convocation; Brother Chidananda became president and spiritual head of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India in 2017. Brother Chidananda mentions at one point an article by Sri Daya Mata, third president of SRF/YSS, which appeared in an issue of Self-Realization magazine. A World in Transition | How-to-Live Inspirational Talk | Brother Anandamoy

Oct 21, 2022 <a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/paramahansayogananda">#ParamahansaYogananda</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/yogananda">#Yogananda</a> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/innerpeace">#InnerPeace</a> Brother Anandamoy (1922 – 2016), a much-loved and respected minister of Self-Realization Fellowship, explains how we can get beyond too much thinking about the future by concentrating instead on the true source of security to be found in communion with the Divine.  He points out that this earth is not our home, but rather a school in which we are to learn that we are immortal souls and play our roles in this drama of creation from that divine and joyful perspective. This talk was given at the 1983 SRF Convocation at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. During this talk on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, Brother Anandamoy often refers to Yogananda as “Master,” one who is master of himself, a soul that is one with the Divine and able to guide others on the spiritual path. The Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons were established by Paramahansa Yogananda as a home-study course providing his personal instruction in the meditation techniques and teachings needed to achieve balanced living and to discover our blissful soul-nature. Awakening Divine Memory | How-to-Live Talk With Meditation | Brother Ritananda

Brother Ritananda explains that a better memory helps us on the spiritual path because we can concentrate better, which is needed in meditation. And we can, through a developed memory, glean more easily the lessons we are meant to learn through life’s experiences, and avoid the same (and other) mistakes going forward. This talk emphasizes that a good memory benefits us as a student, in our professional life, family life, every other aspect of our lives as we travel on the spiritual path. This talk was given on January 10, 2022, at the SRF Lake Shrine Temple, in Pacific Palisades, California.
