All Things Golf 2023 Season Preview

The Yoge boys are back with a vengeance. We return with an uber cheap yogurt from Aldi and learn that Andrew might not be a Greek yogurt guy. We discuss which Cheers character we would be before diving into a full on, full frontal preview of 2023's upcoming golf year. Scott and Andrew talk about their hopes, dreams, and aspirations for their own games, but know it's going to be tough sledding. We talk finding time, trying to travel and play new courses, buddies trips, and playing golf with the kiddos. For the upcoming year, we talk about new additions to the podcast and brand, like sketches, history lessons, and more diversified content to look forward to. (Andrew teases the Bro Golf By Laws in an homage to Barney Stinson's Bro Code)

We go way too long discussing social media bro golf and what's to come there, what happened to golf instruction on Instagram, pop in on some up and comers on the LPGA, and delve pretty deep into the upcoming PGA Tour season and the majors. We make our pics for the Tournament of Champions as well as some of our predictions for the majors. Andrew dubs this season the Year of Rory ( and Scott agrees) and we talk about some other players we see making moves. When and how often will we see Tiger Woods? Who will be player of the year, rookie of the year, and comeback player of the year, and it wouldn't be Hawaii week without a mention of Mark Rolfing.

Episode 7-The Last Yoge-2022 Season Wrap Up

The boys are back again after a few weeks off, and are being surprisingly nice to each other. Turns out, if there is not a TV behind you, the video looks a lot better. Andrew mixes up a couple of mules. We settle in for a long one to recap a wild and wondrous 2022 in the world of golf, starting with a look back at our Yogurt reviews to date. We riff on our favorites and tease a change to our format for next year. Scott continues to gush on Icelandic Provisions and their wonderful Skyr. His warranty on his computer then expires, and expires a few more times during the episode.

Andrew and Scott recap their own golf seasons, and realize that they don’t really like playing golf, they just like hanging with their bros ON a golf course. Well, they do like playing golf, but for new reasons, and they both learn to appreciate the little things about the game that make it special. Andrew and Scott both fail to break 80 on the season. Considering how many sub 40 9s Andrew plays, it’s an incredible feat that he didn’t back into a 79. We talk about our group golf trip, and how a bunch of new friendships were born. The boys were certainly buzzin within moments of meeting each other. We find out that we have to book our next trip in June, TODAY! Scott tells about his low round count for the year, and a 79 watch that got away, and learns that there’s more to life than 79s (but is there really?) We also find out that our wives still love us whether we shoot 76 or not. Also, will Andrew ever stop buying golf hoodies??? Doubt it.

We completely bypass talking about bro golf, and end up getting lost in the sauce of the PGA Tour, which we don’t do that often. We finally talk LIV and surprisingly, we are aligned. Usually we disagree on everything! We recap the majors and some forgotten stories. Talk about the players who flew under the radar, and Andrew drops some crazy stats on us. Made for TV Matches are lame (but Andrew loves them). We then take it down the home stretch with our Players of the Year and other things like that, and then close it out with a final Chamoion Golfer of the Week, where Andrew roasts Scott for using the same golfer twice, and an On This Day to close it out.

Episode 6- The Shot Show

And we back and we back and we back. This week, we get caught up again after missing a week to get our house in order and dial up what Andrew eloquently dubs, The Shot Show! Andrew gets called out for breathing too loud. Scott drops a Frasier reference that might surprise you. We experience a new look Oikos model that satisfies both of us for once. After a month of explaining the concept, Scott still has no idea how this works, but lobbies for the first draft pick based on his poor performance on the course in 2022. The bros do a draft style list of various “shots” in golf. We discuss most memorable GOOD professional golf shots and most memorable BAD professional golf shots. YJS gets some major love in both categories(somehow Andrew has never seen “Go Get That!”), and Tiger tries to dominate the good shots category. David Hearn and the Nike One Tour D ball get shout outs (DEEP CUT!) as we work our way through some of our fondest memories of the last couple decades. We first pump and raise the roof through a cornucopia of legendary moments. Jean Van De Velde resurfaces and DJ has had a lot of tough scenes.

In the second half, Andrew crushes it in the Good Shot phrases department. “Pissed on” makes its first appearance and we reminisce about British announcers. The guys get personal and do a draft of their own favorite clubs where Andrew ends up with Driver and 3 Wood and the blue goblet of fire emerges as a major player in the draft order. We end it with a draft of our favorite all time clubs, where TaylorMade stands tall and the Adam’s Tight Lies goes into not 1, but 2 bags! On This Day takes us back to the Covid days and a return to World #1 awaits our Champion Golfer of the Week.
